Musicals make life better. And at The Lex, we make great musicals.

Our shows are produced right here in Lexington, Kentucky. With meticulous attention to detail, we mount our high-caliber productions with energy and expertise with a local and national team of directors, choreographers, designers and stage managers with decades of experience.

Each season, over 1,000 artists audition for the opportunity to work at The Lex. Our professional companies are led by Broadway veterans and seasoned professionals from the top of the industry. They are joined by rising stars - collegiate artists from top musical theatre programs from around the country, as well as fabulous local actors from Central Kentucky.

We celebrate live music with a full pit orchestra for every production, employing the finest musicians in Central Kentucky.

Nurturing and training the next generation of theatre artists, we're focused on education. Our College Internships and Observerships are available in every department from Stage Management to Wardrobe to Administration. And Youth and High School Apprenticeships offer young people the opportunity to learn from the pros onstage and off.

Audiences from Central Kentucky and beyond enjoy the fruits of our labors. It feels like Broadway, right in your backyard.
