Script to Table
A new venture launched for The Lex in November 2019 with Script To Table - a collaboration with James Beard Award Nominee, Chef Ouita Michel for an evening of culinary and theatrical storytelling. The Lex presented Sondheim on Sondheim, a collection of the music of one of Broadway's greatest composer/lyricists. Chef Ouita Michel created a four-course dinner, based on her interpretation of Sondheim's work, using his music and lyrics as inspiration and reflecting on her creative journey as a culinary artist.
It was a perfect pairing of fine dining and fantastic theatre, at Fasig-Tipton Pavilion.
Script to Table: Sondheim on Sondheim featured Broadway's Leslie Goddard, Jeremy Landon Hays and Kim Huber, joined by local artists Jessica Bayne and Joseph Wrightson, along with college students from the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music - Kurtis Bradley Brown, Bailee Endebrock and Stone Mountain. Directed by Lyndy Franklin Smith with Music Direction by Brock Terry.
The Lex Orchestra featured Brock Terry and Michael Rintamaa (Keyboards), Julie Lastinger (Violin), Yoonie Choi-Reich (Cello), Jonathon Nickell and Ricky Roshell (Woodwinds), Sherry Baker (French Horn), Paul Reich (Bass)
